Borough of State College Deploys “Citywide” Surveillance System
Various police buildings, jails, and similar secure public safety facilities use Wi4Net nationwide to upgrade surveillance systems
Reston, Va., June 8, 2015 – Wi4Net, a division of CelPlan Technologies, Inc. and a leading provider of integrated wireless broadband and surveillance solutions, today announced that it has completed the implementation of an IP-based wireless network and unified surveillance system, with well over 100 feeds, to provide for comprehensive security for the Borough of State College, Pennsylvania.
“We are extremely excited that we have been able to upgrade the security of our borough to latest, IP-based technologies,” noted Hillary Pasch, IT Project Manager for the Borough of State College. “As a college town, we have potential issues and public safety concerns throughout our downtown. Besides providing a unified platform and upgraded security for our parking garages and facilities, using CelPlan’s expertise in wireless transmission, we have been able to put in place an infrastructure that supports cameras throughout our downtown as well.”
The system incorporates a combination of high definition IP cameras, and high speed wireless transmission using a scheduled protocol to support video-over-wireless in a reliable fashion. The solution also supports integration of Automatic License Plate Recognition technology.
