City of Englewood Secures its Downtown Corridor
The City of Englewood Police Department implements a wireless megapixel surveillance solution along Palisade Avenue
Reston, Va., May 26, 2016 – Wi4Net, a division of CelPlan Technologies, Inc. and a leading provider of integrated wireless broadband and IP-based surveillance solutions, today announced that it has completed the installation of a wireless camera security system for the City of Englewood, covering the main shopping and downtown corridor along Palisade Avenue.
Based on local utility company restrictions, the City was only allowed to place a single camera device per pole. With the selection of multi-megapixel, multi-lens cameras, significant coverage was achieved within this constraint. A special feature the camera system is the ability for each lens to be pointed to a specific area of interest and combined with a lens type of choice, which dramatically maximizes the useful view of each camera. The camera sites are connected through a wireless network, which uses the 4.9 GHz band, allocated for public safety purposes. The wireless network utilizes a scheduled protocol so that a stable flow of traffic is assured, in support of the multi-megapixel camera devices.

Now, forensic research can be performed after incidents with high resolution footage available in multiple directions. This project is a showcase locally in this section of New Jersey and nationwide.”
